COOLA is the leading organic sunscreen brand. As part of their larger brand evolution efforts, they needed an elevated digital experience ready to tell their story to consumers.

A STORYTELLING ECOSYSTEM
After building a reputation on the strength of its individual organic sunscreen products, COOLA undertook a brand evolution to achieve greater design cohesion and customer recognition. The company needed a new website to match the elevated stories they wanted to tell.
GETTING THE BALANCE RIGHT
Our mission was to balance content and commerce needs while providing brand storytelling opportunities. A mobile-first mindset was necessary to suit the on-the-beach nature of COOLA’s customer base.
A PREMIUM ONLINE EXPERIENCE
UX work optimized how products were presented, making them easier for customers to filter based on SPF, fragrance, and how they go on the skin. A robust online sales channel is key to COOLA’s success, since they’re an exclusive brand that doesn’t operate in mass-market retail channels.
MULTIPLE PATHS TO EXPLORE
By paying special attention to hover states, promo modules, and video takeovers, we built pathways for customers to discover more information. This immersive shopping experience was created using Spacecraft – our modular design system that makes merchandising easy.
